The legend of a black dog... part 2.

The figure of a terrifying black beast is a part of the legend that has been heard in the vicinity of Ogrodzieniec for many, many years. (although it is a story passed down from generation to generation.

In 1669, Stanisław Warszycki became the owner of Ogrodzieniec. He was characterized by an exceptionally lousy character. He treated bad not only his enemies and servants, but also his loved ones, his own wife (he married four times ) and daughter.
He mistreated his wives cruelly - he ordered to bricken one of them (and then blew up this part of the castle), he regularly sentenced another to whipping (enjoying her martyrdom groans).
He was to hand over part of his property to his daughter Barbara, but in the end he was unable to fight his greed, finally he left his daughter in the world with nothing. Supposedly Warszycki personally supervised the torture of his subjects. A cave in the outer courtyard of the castle has been preserved until today. It was the place where Warszycki indulged in his sadistic passions.
According to the legend, Warszycki signed a pact with the devil, which transformed him into a big black dog that will be tied up forever with a chain to the walls of the castle in Ogrodzieniec.
The castellan, blinded by greed, accepted Satan's offer, because thanks to it he was sure that as a dangerous dog ghost, he would always be able to watch over his riches.
When twilight sets in, few people (whether tourists or visitors) go to the castle on their own. The stories of the local community about what can still be seen at night behind the walls of the fortress are true for many people. In the ruins a terrifying black dog of unnatural size has been seen many times.
